Zach Bankert, Russell's best friend from college and the best man/steampunk airship pirate mechanic, is a very talented artist. His work (that I've seen) is pretty awesome; large scale murals and altered road signs. He's also a great spirit; I love his smile and verve. His costume was great, his energy was even greater, and it was so good to have him with us at Shakori!
On Friday he started the mural, using self-cut stencils out of cardboard and spray paint. The mural has a repeating image of a man wearing goggles "Eyewear Required", with floating gears below a steampunk pirate airship. It's amazing!
Late on Saturday he added the initials R+S to the top corners in red, just for us!
This is another art installation we'll have on the playa! It's such a cool piece of art. I'm glad we get to take it with us!
